Online Marketing is a skill learned over time, a long time especially if you commit the 7 Deadly Sins of Online Marketing! If you want to shortened the Learning curve avoid these 7 Deadly Sins of Online Marketing!
Deadly Sin # 1 Trying to recruit and to sell to everybody!
In other words, not having a niche or a targeted market. The old saying goes, “Niches make you riches.” but not if you’re sending your links and plastering your products and company names all over the internet. That’s a real quick way to break the faith and not make money.
Also, people don’t care, you got to remember we are swamped with ads 24/7. When’s the last time you drove down the road and saw billboards all over the place and, actually, read one?
Deadly Sin #2 Being desperate!
Let’s say you do get a lead. You’re brand new and you’re desperate. This is the guy. This is the lady. This is the one that you have to sign up. If you go in there with no posture, no power and you’re willing to recruit anybody that can fog up a mirror, you look desperate!
If you go in there with that frame of mind, you’re recruiting average is going to be very, very low.
Deadly Sin#3 Being perfect! If you wait for all your ducks to be perfectly lined up, let’s say in video marketing, you’re never going to get off the launch pad.
You’re never going to hit that record button, If, you’re waiting for the perfect lighting, the perfect shirt, or the Perfect Smile! You will never get started.
I’m not perfect. I don’t say the perfect things. I get tongue tied every now and then. No big deal, you move on! No Big Deal!
Deadly Sin #4 Not leveraging the talent and experience of top earners or like-minded people!
In other words, I learned a lot myself from the top earners. Watching their videos, talking to them on the phone, chatting with them online. These people have (A) Skills and (B) Experience.
What use is it to me to talk to them, take notes from listening to their videos or even purchase a training if I’m not going to listen to them? If I’m not going to take, for lack of a better word, advantage of their experience and Skills.
They’ve been there, they’ve been through the rough times. They know the lows and the highs and they still kept plowing straight ahead. They kept that ship going to the distant shores they wanted to get to. That’s why they are where they are at.
Deadly Sin #5 Shiny objects syndrome!
Shiny Object Syndrome is buying training courses, joining every new company that comes along but never finishing them.
I was guilty of it, I’ll admit it. I bought one too many training courses at a time and next thing you know I don’t finish them. Let’s say you just buy one and finish it before moving on the next one.
Deadly Sin #6 Not listening to your sponsor or mentor or your prospects!
Not listening to your sponsor or your mentor will delay your Success. They have years of being in the grind, getting their knocks and then getting the rewards.
Not Listening to prospects will hurt your Success.
There’s the old saying, “God gave us two ears and one mouth so we could listen twice as much as we speak.” This is absolutely crucial with prospects.
If a prospect is interested in your opportunity,” When you ask them why they’re interested in your business opportunity, that’s your opportunity to shut the heck up and let them speak and listen to them.
Listen to their concerns, pains and problems. When you do speak , it’s to have them clarify what they’re saying to you. If you’re not listening to your prospects, they chances of recruiting them diminish dramatically.
Deadly Sin #7 Not implementing what you have learned.
Let’s say you had a Coaching session, If you’re not implementing what you are taught, you wasted your Coach’s time and your money. If it was a free session you wasted their time.
Their time is valuable, their time is money. They took their time to mentor you, show you the ropes so on and so forth and you didn’t implement it!
You’re telling them do it this way and they’re not listening to you. Guess what, that affects your bottom line too so remember that.
